Humanitarian LLMs? 🤖 ⛑️ We're learning!

Today, L✨GHT hosted a 1-day symposium on Large Language Models at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) headquarters in Geneva!

Blaise Robert from ICRC and I had enormous fun organizing the event....and the fourteen stellar speakers from academia needed no convincing to participate.

Thank you to the nearly 200 attendees from the ICRC and the 14 speakers

We kicked off with an inspirational opening by the ICRC directorate with Valérie Abrell

May our totem from Cotonou ✨🦉🪺🦉✨ protect this fruitful partnership!

Benin in West Africa is one of the major origins of voodoo: a beautiful religion, tradition, culture, and way of life steeped in symbolism.

It results in magnificent art and craftsmanship.

The totem is designed to protect the partnership between 2 sources of knowledge 🧠🧠 for public good

i.e.

1) ICRC and academia represented as owls🦉🦉

2) They are bound together by a stork to ensure fruitful impact-driven outputs 🪺

humanitarian principles= academic principles
